Provided by YP.comBe wary of the 90 day cancellation requirement in the contract that is never brought up but strictly enforced upon cancellation (even when you cancel due to issues from their end! We switched billing software which required help from Optum to set up the parameters for the new software in order to be able to submit claims. After TWO WEEKS of trying to follow up with their support team and getting no response, we finally had to find a new clearinghouse so that we could submit our claims. The new clearinghouse got us set up the SAME DAY. I contacted Optum to cancel our account and explained that I was cancelling due to their negligence. The next month, I got a bill even though no claims were submitted so I contacted Optum and was told that there is a 90 day billing period after you cancel in the contract. When I asked to see the contract, they sent me an electronically signed document dated during a period of time that the person who "signed" it was not even in the state. I explained that I needed to see a document with an actual signature and they could not produce it. I still am not sure how someone can electronically sign for something when they aren't even in town or how they couldn't produce any documentation of the electronic signature. Looking through the contract, it said that if Optum failed to uphold their provisions in the contract that a 90 day period was not needed and that the contract could be cancelled if problems were not handled in 10 days (ours went on for two weeks and was never resolved). When I pointed that out, I was told that I would have had to write a formal letter and that Optum had 30 days to fix a problem - not at all what the contract says but they could care less when it comes to upholding their end of the contract! It is extremely apparent that they do not care for customer service and all that matters is getting a couple more bucks out of clients that were already financially harmed by their negligence and breach of contract. Do not waste your time or money on this company!! There are far better clearinghouses with far superior customer service.
