Had a BAD experience here. My dog came back missing a tooth! And nothing was explained to me when I called to check on them. The only thing I got was, "I'm sorry we should have explained things to you when you called."

Really......

Will never use them again.

my pet's name is Frazier and I took him there to get him groomed. It took three hoursfor a one hour job.The groomer did a hack job ,some parts were shorter than other ,I don't think he touched his head.that's what $50 got me.Own top of that he was shaking when I picked him up.

sunny acres has always taken care of my baby and very satisfied with the care and attention it gets. it is a shame orange county planning board and county commissioners are basically trying to make it very hard for her to let our babies have fun at her facility. shame on you

Wildly expensive. Your dog will get great care, have fun, be fed well. You'll find your favorite companion has been taken care of extremely well, had lots of play time and is in good spirits when you pick them up. The price tag, however, is astounding. For boarding with 1/2 day play time you'll pay nearly as much as your hotel room costs while you're gone. Cadillac service, in every sense of the word.

My dog has been going to Sunny Acres day camp every day for the past year. He's always happy to see his 'people' when he arrives and there is always a cookie waiting for him at the desk. Once he's had a cookie (well, usually 3-4 cookies) he is walked out to his yard where he is greeted by his dog-friends and his other people-friends. It is nice to have a place where I can leave him, confident that he will be busy and happy while I am at work instead of at home without much stimulation. The times I've boarded him there, I've signed him up for day camp all day. It tires him out and he's less anxious when it's time to go to the kennel. I know there's no place like home, but Sunny Acres is a great option for him. He already knows the staff, knows the dogs, gets to play all day and is tuckered out at night. I always feel better knowing he's at a place he likes.

Very disappointed with the customer service. The staff is nice enough but the management is only after your money. I can not even get anyone to return my calls after they found out I wanted a refund. Customer satisfaction is not their number one priority, which tells me money is more important to them than any of your dogs.

rude & unknowledgeable office staff

On Monday of last week I called to inquire about the services. The first lady I spoke with went on forever when trying to answer my questions and I still was not sure about some of the services and cost. She didn't seem to knowledgeable.

Later that morning I called back to see if I could speak with someone else to clear us my doubts, the lady which I spoke with was very helpful and seemed to have my best interests at heart. I made my reservation through her and I knew exactly what to expect as far as cost. On Saturday I took my dog in for boarding, however, since I am new to the area I was unsure exactly how to get there. I called the office and the lady I spoke with was very rude and basically told me she did not have time to give me directions because she was busy. I finally made it to the facility only to be made to feel as if I was bothering the staff in the office as I needed to fill out an application for my dog to go to camp. I decided not to send her because I was so unsure about her safety. If I could have taken her else where I would have. On Monday, when I picked her up I meet Lynn whom I made the reservation with and I felt better know the she actually took concern in helping me and made me feel as if I did mean something after all.

Business Response10/12/2009

I am the owner of Sunny Acres and it is very upsetting to read a negative review. Why not contact the owner/manager first? If I am not informed I can't fix the issue. I want my staff to be the best they can be but I need to know when there is a problem. We do have new employees being trained in the office so that may account for the unknowledgeable staff, but that person should have asked for help from the manager. I am sorry she did not. Of course, there is never any excuse for rudeness. I personally apologize for this behavior and I will have that employee apologize if you would like to call me. However, she doesn't remember being rude to anyone so if you would call me I would like to discuss this with you further. You did not have to worry about your dog not being safe in Doggy Day Camp because someone in the office was possibly rude. Every member of the staff has a passion for pets and it shows in the quality care and personal attention each pet receives. Every guest is very important to us and we do our best to make sure everyone is happy and satisfied.

The best decision I ever made!

My dog does flips in the car as we pull up. They are extremely nice and as I have spot checked them many times, I feel free to say they interact with the dogs all day long. My husky could care less that I am there to pick her up at the end of the day. Do not let the older facilities fool you. This staff is top notch, and let's face it, the dogs do not notice how new the place is!

Find another kennel

I left my young dog at "Sunny Acres" for 3 nights, and will never return. When I picked her up, she smelled horribly - the stench of that urine that soiled the towel that I cleaned her with was covered with some sort of baby powder. When she came come she vomited several times, with large chunks of adult dog food evident (I provided her own puppy food). Worse still, she came home sick - for the cost of Sunny Acres' "service and the vet bills I could have paid a house sitter to spend the entire weekend with my dog! When I called to report the problems, I was first put on hold while my "information was located" - after 5 minutes, my call was never picked up. I called back and received a long series of excuses and assurances that I was somehow mistaken, then hung up on.
