Utica First Insurance Company, located near Utica, N.Y., is a regional property and casualty insurance carrier that specializes in homeowners and small-business risk insurance policies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. The company was founded by a group of local businessmen in 1903 as Utica Fire Insurance Company of Oneida County. In the beginning, the company wrote exclusively property insurance policies on an assessable basis. Its product line has expanded to include homeowner, landlord package, restaurant, convenience store, antiques and collectibles and business owner policies.
