Great Organic Produce!

Like all Whole Foods, they're dedicated to providing locally grown and organic veggies, along with locally made items. Yummy. Worth the trip from out of town....The "salad bar" is fab, with lots of vegetarian and vegan items. Try the sesame tofu!

It's a fun place for foodies!

I told people, it's the Disney World for foodies; a variety of quality products and the hot/cold food bars are great. The seafood and meat cases are incredible, although, I worry that they are wasting too much food with the quantity that is spread out in the cases. It is definitely on the pricey side, although, if you can limit yourself to just what you need and shop wisely, you can try a lot of variety that you may not find elsewhere. The sushi bar seems top-notch.

A Good Selection, But a bit Pricey

The Whole Grocer claims to be Maine's Largest Independent Natural Food Store. Maybe so, but they need more competitive pricing. The location is a problem, being that they are directly across the parking lot from Wild Oats Natural Marketplace, the Nation's Second Largest Natural Foods Market chain (Whole Foods Market being #1), which has a much larger selection, and much lower prices. Portland seems to be able to support both handily, as neither suffers from a lack of customers.
